Today
being weekend, as usual in the morning I was surfing channels and I came across
the movie Satyamev Jayete, the movie presented
current scenario of our country India. People to save time often use shortcut
and then they have to face consequences. Due to corruption several innocent
people have lost their life.
The
movie shows how an innocent officer gets trapped by his own colleague friend
for drug mafia and bribe, due to loss of image in the society an honest police
officer has to lose his life, in short he commits suicide.
Corruption
has become new trend in today’s century, to make work complete and in an ease
way bribe is given and taken. Many of the cases die a natural death for
example a scene in the movie , a poor footpath person lost his wife in a car
accident the present police officer was transferred a huge amount of bribe ,
to which the poor man was not able to get justice.
Sadly
the law makers, very post and offices that are meant to check the rot that is
guilty are indulged in corruption. While watching the movie, in the break I
thought to check the twitter tweets, I came across the tweet that during this
pandemic situation of COVID19, the well educated profession of medical are also
indulged in the black marketing (Corruption), the tweet followed that due to
non availability of exact amount of fund and beds, the patient was not admitted
in the hospital and she has to lose her life. Isn’t it a part of corruption, by
the hospital and staff.
Corruption
not only affects the personal image but it also affects the economy of the
country. Unfortunately Indian Judiciary is also fallen prey to this malaise. A
bribe can work wonders for time period of a person and family but it has
adverse effect on the entire nation.
Making
files move to right counters, escape with minor fines for serious crimes. The
bribes are accepted and taken just to make work easy and fast, but to make work
ease and fast we cannot choose a wrong path.
Accepting
and giving a bribe is a big offence under Indian Penal Code 1860, the person
who is found giving or receiving the bribe will be punished with imprisonment
of one year or fine or both. According to the report only 15% of governments
anti corruption funds are reaching to the poor. Corruption and poverty are
directly linked with each other.
Thankfully,
the youth of today are coming forward with a helping hand to stop the
corruption by arranging campaigns, awareness programs and many more. Still many
things have to get better. Today along with government, different people are
donating things and food, to which 30% of food is stolen later to sell in
black. Along with this officers have to leave their offices and plan a surprise
inspection. The situation will hopefully change slowly with time but for this
being a responsible citizen we need to work effectively and choose a right path
, may it take long time , but right path will always make us successful and
adversely it will make our country a corruption free country.
We
have long way for vibrant and healthy India , but remember a small and correct
way will make a big change , so let’s join hands and be a change.
