LAW - Prestigious Profession
The legal
profession is a very core link of machinery for the administration of justice.
Without the presence of this well developed and organised stream, the court
would be in no position to bring justice efficiently.
India has a
glorious history and almost all pre-independence India compromised lawyers -
Gandhi, Nehru, Jinnah were all lawyers. Even today there is social
acceptability as its wealth, prestige and recognition. 900+ law colleges send
the law graduates every year to enroll and practice all over the nation.
As a lawyer, one
had to analyse facts quickly, be attentive, be updated with technology and also
pay law in the situation.
A degree gives
one knowledge of Law but expertise and experience come after years of honing
one's Knowledge and skills in court.
A lawyer stands
for justice as he pleads for it. An advocate is an important part to play in
the wheel of justice.
The legal
profession in India is governed by the Advocate's act in 1961. The Bar Council
of India has control over law colleges and discipline of lawyers.
An Advocate
should follow certain norms, duties and values to uphold the dignity of his
profession.
Respect seniors
and kindness to juniors should be their trademark.
The lawyer's
relationship with his clients is the creation of his profession.
He should at no
point abuse his client's trust. A fair account of Financial dealing and
expenses should be his duty. He should have a personal connection with his
client.
Lawyers are
expert in their chosen fields - corporate law. Banking, commercial, criminal,
cyber and many more.
In short tact,
patience, astuteness, in-depth knowledge and a high level of honor and
morality are hallmarks of a good advocate.
The relation of
the client and his advocate is very important and it should be transparent from
both sides.
